Της πόλης μας οι αφέντες
αγαπάνε όλα τα ζωάκια
μα πιο πολύ τα γουρουνάκια.

Τα ταΐζουν, τα φροντίζουν
και ελεύθερα τα αφήνουν
στους δρόμους να περιτριγυρίζουν.

Γέμισε λοιπόν η πόλη
χοντρά και αστεία γουρουνάκια
που γρυλίζουνε στους δρόμους
χτυπώντας τις οπλές τους στα πλακάκια.

Της πόλης μας οι αφέντες
αγαπάνε όλα τα ζωάκια
ιδίως τα παπαγαλάκια.

Τα ταΐζουν, τα φροντίζουν
και ελεύθερα τα αφήνουν
στις γειτονιές να φτερουγίζουν.

Γέμισε λοιπόν η πόλη
κίτρινα μικρα παπαγαλάκια
που τιτιβίζουν στον αέρα
λόγια καθώς πρέπει και στιχάκια.

Της πόλης μας οι αφέντες
αγαπάνε όλα τα ζωάκια
μα πάνω από όλα τα αρνάκια.

Τα αρμέγουν, τα κουρεύουν
και στο μαντρί τους τα βολεύουν
νυχθημερών να μη σαλεύουν.

Άδειασε λοιπόν η πόλη
από τα ελαφρόμυαλα αρνάκια
που βελάζανε στους δρόμους
και έβοσκαν χορτάρι στα παρκάκια.

Της πόλης μας οι αφέντες
που αγαπάνε όλα τα ζωάκια
έχουν δόντια και κοφτερά νυχάκια.

Ορέγονται και τρώνε
όλε το μέλι από την κυψέλη
και όλα τα σταφύλια από τα αμπέλι.

Ρήμαξε λοιπόν η πόλη
από τα αχόρταγα αρκουδάκια
που έχουν για συντροφιά τους
τα γουρουνάκια και τα παπαγαλάκια.

on the streets to wander around.

fat and funny little pigs
roaring in the streets
hitting their hooves on the tiles.

in neighborhoods to flutter.

yellow little parrots
peeping in the air words as well as verses.

they love all animals
but above all the lambs.

They milk them, they cut them
and in their corral they are comfortable
night and day not to shake.

So the city emptied
from the light-minded lambs
roaming the streets and grazed grass in the parks.

The masters of our city
that all animals love
have teeth and sharp nails.

They crave and eat
all the honey from the hive
and all the grapes from the vineyard.

So the city fell apart
from the insatiable teddy bears
that they have for their company
the pigs and the parrots.
